The place was clean, but there were mice in the corridor and on the stairs. The WiFi didn’t work, even after I went to the front desk twice. The air conditioning only partly worked and had no remote, just an on/off switch. The TV was out of order, and the windows didn’t close properly, so there were lots of mosquitoes. Don’t choose this hotel unless you have no other option.

The location is decent, quiet at night, and close to the beach. Fast WiFi, a fridge, and a pleasant young man keeping an eye on things were the only real positives. The room had a slight smell, and there was a huge patch of mold on the wall. The furniture was already rotting, including the bottom. The air conditioning was very noisy, and there was a Russian channel. I don’t understand how it got a 7.7 rating on Booking.com, where I booked it. The next day I got a message saying I hadn’t shown up, even though I’d spent the night there. Better to pay more and find somewhere more decent.

The hotel was basically good, but only really suitable for sleeping. Smoking is allowed in the room, and the bathroom is seriously tiny. It’s a half-hour walk to Koh Samui's city center. I never saw the owner. An old woman was the only one handling check-in and check-out. I’d booked five nights, but moved to Coconut Grove after two. Best decision ever.
