The family who run the place are so warm, from the grandparents to the grandchildren. They're always smiling but keep things discreet, and we felt right at home. The north of the island was quiet, with a deserted beach that felt like paradise. Our small bungalow was very inexpensive and had a handy little fridge, a comfortable bed, and a convenient bathroom with a shower and hot water. Laundry and ironing are available at a low cost. You can also rent a scooter or book excursions right there. When my scooter had a brake problem, they came and fixed it straight away. The rental was inexpensive too, with no scams. There are several great bars and restaurants just across the street, including King Bush Reggae. I highly recommend the place.

There are a few small beach restaurants and a 7-Eleven nearby, and it looks like scooter rental is available, though there weren't any free that day. If you want to go out or party in Chaweng, you'll need a scooter. The bungalow seemed fairly new and was clean and well looked after. It had hot water all the time, plus a TV, fridge, and air conditioning. Adding another night to our stay was no problem.
