Gila's Garden Bungalows

We stayed here on a budget and rented a bike for the whole trip, which made it easy to get around even though it’s a bit out of town. The couple running the place were lovely and gave us great local recommendations. The rooms are huge and really comfortable, with great wifi and Netflix.

We found the room decent, though it was clearly aging and needed updates. A kind staff member showed us there after a cold arrival, when the owner’s manner felt condescending. There was no friendly greeting, welcome drink, or offer to help with our luggage. The bathroom was especially unpleasant. It smelled very strongly, and we kept finding cockroaches there during our stay. The scooter rental was also noticeably pricier than nearby options. When I asked if the price was flexible, I was snapped at and told all the scooters were brand new. The one I got was old and had over 60,000 km on it. The experience fell short of what we expected. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless serious improvements are made.

The neighbourhood is calm, clean, and safe, and it’s a good choice if you want a less crowded area. There’s a supermarket within walking distance, and the place is well equipped. The staff were super friendly and helpful, with Gila being an amazing host. You can rent a motorbike right there too.

The surroundings are lovely, and the rooms are big. It’s quiet here and really good value for the price. The owners are helpful, know their stuff, and easy to reach. You can rent a scooter or motorbike at the usual rate. I’d book again and recommend it.
