Golden Monkey Samui

The staff were nice and seemed to want to help, but things went badly wrong. I was checked into the wrong room, even after I pointed it out. Because of that mix-up, they threw out my stuff, thinking I had to check out the next day. They cleaned another room for me to move into, but then the power went out a couple of times and the bed sheets had huge, really nasty stains. When I went to check out the next day, nobody was there. I waited 30 minutes before someone showed up and said they’d lost my 1000 baht deposit, so I had to wait longer. When I said that was unacceptable, I got 1000 baht back. The rooms are very noisy and only kind of clean, and the sheets aren’t clean. The people are nice, but everything goes wrong. Don’t stay there.

Our double room was lovely and in a great location. It stayed quiet all night, and the laundry service was done well. Recommended.

The beach is only a 4 minutes walk away, with really nice water and sand. The room has everything you need: new Aircondition, comfortable beds, strong water pressure, and both hot and cold water. The internet is excellent for remote work, and there’s a desk in the room. Highly recommend.

Lek, the hotel manager, made us feel especially welcome. Whenever we asked for information, she was helpful, and she greeted us with a smile every time she saw us. The rest of the workers were kind too, and we really enjoyed the restaurant food. My husband and I had a fun, comfortable stay. The hotel is very central, with the beach only a short walk away.
