Nautilus Samui Hotel & Spa

We spent two weeks at Nautilus Apartments and loved it. The apartment was spotless, modern and had everything we needed, and the staff were friendly, responsive and ready to help. It’s a quiet, safe base close to what makes Koh Samui special. With a scooter, the main sights are only minutes away, including Fisherman’s Village, the main temples and Chaweng. Lamai Beach takes a little longer, but you can’t teleport yourself. The price for the quality is hard to beat in this area. We’d happily stay again and recommend Nautilus Apartments to anyone wanting a peaceful place that’s still well connected.

It’s a calm spot, only a couple of minutes by scooter from the busy city centre. There’s a 7 eleven right around the corner, and the pools were clean. The rooms have plenty of space, big balconies and great views. If you book one with PRIVATE pool access, you can start the day by jumping straight into that lovely blue water.

Check-in was easy, and the hosts were friendly and communicated well before we arrived. They even helped arrange an airport transfer. After one night, though, we checked out and found somewhere nearer the beach. The apartment looked just like the pictures and was clean, but it was a long way from the island’s lively spots and attractions. The room smelled damp and musty, and the towels were very old and discoloured. There was hardly anything to use: one mug, one knife, one plate and a very dirty old glass. The advertised coffee station was just a kettle, and there was no hot plate or microwave as mentioned. I’m glad we got our 2000 Bt refund after the inspection.

The hallway lights are off at night, so it gets extremely dark inside. You’re also in the middle of nowhere and need a car. The place itself is badly deteriorated and feels like a messy frat house. It badly needs mopping and a proper scrub, among other things. There was black mold in the bathrooms, and the owner did nothing about it, just made excuses for not taking responsibility. Avoid this dump and spend your money somewhere cleaner and better.
