Nora Beach Resort & Spa, Koh Samui

The most worrying part of our stay was a faulty canoe. It had a crack under the seat and was missing plugs, so water filled the ballast and the canoe sank while we were out at sea. We had to swim back while pushing a cone filled with 100l of water. We're comfortable in the water, so managed fine, but this could have been dangerous for children or anyone who can't swim. They should deal with it immediately and check all their canoes more often. We also didn't use the pool much because visible mold or algae in the grout came loose into the water when stepped on. A proper scrub and ongoing maintenance seem like they'd fix it. Restaurant and spa prices were high for Thailand, more like Scandinavian prices, even though similar quality is available nearby for much less. There were plenty of good things too. The facilities were beautiful, clean and generally well maintained, with a luxurious feel. Housekeeping kept our room spotless, and all the staff were warm, professional and attentive. The restaurant and bar had delicious food and excellent drinks, and breakfast offered a good selection. As non-smokers with asthma, we appreciated the designated smoking areas. The spa and fitness facilities were lovely, with quality treatments and excellent staff. We truly enjoyed our stay and would come back, and hope they'll check the pool and water equipment safety.

The hotel and rooms are beautiful, and most of the employees are very nice. I stayed at Nora Resort Chaweng Ko Samui from 9 to 12 of February 2026. The reservation was under Oziel, and we had two rooms, if I remember correctly 726 and 728. They have a policy that nobody except the guest can enter the room. A tailor came with a pair of pants and a jacket for a final fitting before finishing the suits I'd bought, but they wouldn't let him up, even though he had the clothes with him. When I asked what we should do, they suggested I change in the lobby in front of them or in the public lobby toilet. For the price I paid, I expected to be able to use the room to change. I'm a man and don't mind undressing in front of people, but I wonder what they'd have done if I were a woman. Sent me to the toilets, I suppose. Thanks for the service.

Our canoe trip to the small island across from the resort was a real highlight. The kayaks were provided by the hotel, and it felt like our own little adventure. We also went to Pig Island on a hotel-arranged trip. It was generally well organized, though the staff seemed a bit over-controlling at times, and the speedboat went unnecessarily fast, which felt unsafe. We were glad to get back safely and still enjoyed the outing overall. We spent lots of time by the pool, made good use of happy hour from 2-4 PM and had excellent cocktails. The food was delicious throughout, from the included breakfast to lunch brought right to our sunbed. Special thanks to the pool staff, especially Rock, whose attentiveness and genuine friendliness made the stay special. The resort's traditional Thai design, with wooden roofs, natural materials and lovely sea views, felt elegant and welcoming. The transfer from the airport was short and pleasant, and we felt like we'd arrived in paradise from the moment we landed. After a great time in Bangkok, Koh Samui was exactly the relaxed beach holiday we wanted for our honeymoon. The welcome drink and consistently friendly service matched what we expected at this price level. We also enjoyed Muay Thai shows in the evenings. Away from the resort, we found friendly people, good service and fair prices at massages, restaurants and markets around Koh Samui. We were genuinely sad to leave. Thanks to Nora Beach Resort and the whole team for making our honeymoon special. We felt welcome and would absolutely return.

The most reassuring part was how the team handled a booking I couldn’t use. I’d reserved 7 nights at Nora Beach Resort & Spa, but personal circumstances kept me from staying during the lower winter season. Since I cancelled so close to check-in, the booking terms meant no refund, which I understand. The reservations and guest service teams stayed in clear contact and worked out a fair, considerate solution instead of leaving me to lose the full amount. My son ended up staying 3 nights and received a significant hotel credit for the restaurants, spa, and other hotel services, which made his stay even more enjoyable. Thank you to Ms. Jilawan, Ms. Chanida, and Mr. Supawit for being patient, professional, and sincerely willing to help. That kind of fairness and personal care on a non-refundable booking really deserves praise.
