Pause on Samui

That rooftop terrace was hard to leave, especially with the sea view in the evening. We stayed at Pause on Samui Residences as a group of eight, and the huge villa gave us loads of room. The layout let us spend time together without giving up privacy. It was a fantastic stay, and I’d definitely return.

I want to start by recognizing that the staff were kind and helpful during our stay. I’m sharing what happened in the hope the process can be improved. There was one accidental loud noise inside the house. It wasn’t connected to violence or disruptive behavior. I went straight to the neighbors, explained, and apologized sincerely. They seemed understanding and had only come to check whether anyone was hurt. I also told the host right away and confirmed that everything was okay. The next morning things seemed normal. Then, around 3 PM, I found that both my Airbnb account and the account used to book had been logged out. That evening the host suddenly told us we had to check out that same night, with no advance notice. The host said the neighbors had reported the incident, but my personal account was also reported even though I hadn’t booked the place. I’m concerned about how our individual accounts were identified and reported. I’ve stayed in more than 30 Airbnbs over the past two years and never had an issue like this with a host or condo complex. I try to be a respectful, responsible guest. Thanks for hearing our feedback. I hope attention to how these situations are handled can spare future guests the same experience.

The nearby beach had broken glass in the water, so swimming there felt dangerous. As for the accommodation, Replay Condominium itself was dated but decent. Pause On Samui and host Maxim, however, made Townhouse D2 at Replay Condos the worst Airbnb stay I’ve had. Before arrival, we’d agreed on a monthly cash rate of $2,000. When it came time to pay, the price went up to nearly $2,500, so I had to book through Airbnb, bringing the month to $2,700 in an aging, worn-out complex. After we were forced out with only a few hours’ notice, we quickly found a private villa for $2,000 a month that was modern, peaceful, and much better in every way. During the first two days, Airbnb unexpectedly notified me that I was somehow violating its terms of service. I’d stayed at over 30 Airbnbs in the past two years and had never seen that before. I was confused and concerned, but carried on hoping the month would go smoothly. The stay was barely tolerable at first: power outages during work hours, a faulty TV, and poor communication. One night I raised my voice briefly before 10 PM, the stated quiet time. The next morning I was told to leave that day, with no warning or mediation. It felt like being kicked out mid-trip as if I were a criminal. The refund was wrong, too, and Maxim then tried to charge me $400, saying I’d damaged a bed frame, which I absolutely hadn’t. The treatment felt unprofessional, unfair, and borderline exploitative. Avoid Pause On Samui and host Maxim.

The villa was great, in a gated community, though it’s a bit far from the main piers. Shops nearby are still under construction. There’s a 7 eleven about 1 km away in either direction, and bike rentals can be found around 500 m from the place.
