Samui Boat Lagoon

It’s a very peaceful place, especially if quiet is what you’re after. The villas are comfortable and spacious enough for an average family, with a separate kitchen and a nice private pool. Breakfast needs to be ordered ahead, and the next-day laundry service is good. The main drawback is the location: there isn’t much within walking distance, and the beach nearby isn’t that great.

The staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. When I asked for an extra mattress, they brought one straight away. We had a good stay at Samui Boat Lagoon, and the room was very nice, though the shower pressure and temperature could have been better. The bed was exceptionally hard, even by Thai standards 😅 After a couple of days, the quiet started to feel a bit lonely. There was almost never anyone at the big pool, and with no restaurant or breakfast, we felt a little alone.

The Wi-Fi is terrible. If you need to work, don’t stay here. It’s not suitable for digital nomads like us, and skimping on internet isn’t a good idea. Cheers.

The bed was as hard as the floor, so I ended up moving somewhere else and lost a whole month’s rent. Parking was only available if you got lucky. The hot side of the kitchen wasn’t practical. The concept looks good, but it just doesn’t work.
