The place photographs well, and the rooms are spacious with huge balconies. The pool view is nice and very Instagram-worthy, though the pool itself is small. Reception and room-service staff were friendly and responsive, maintenance dealt with the bathtub knob quickly, and umbrellas were available when needed. The bigger problem was the basics. The bathtub water was often dirty, which felt like a serious hygiene concern. The beach isn’t swimmable, and Chaweng market and the main beach are quite far away. There’s no nearby 7-Eleven or convenience store, so we had to rely on Grab for nearly everything. Breakfast was the same fixed set menu each day, with no buffet and no option to reorder the fixed items, which wouldn’t suit a longer stay. There’s no phone in the room either, so everything has to be requested through WhatsApp, which gets inconvenient. Restaurant staff came across as unfriendly at breakfast, as if serving us was a big favor, and there was no interaction with guests. The room size and looks are good, but service consistency, food variety, and convenience were lacking. The price didn’t feel justified for the service.

We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. From arrival onward, the service felt truly five-star. The food, facilities, and atmosphere all exceeded what we expected. Highly recommended!

The food was cold and bland when it finally arrived, and it wasn’t even what we’d ordered. We waited ages just to place the order, and the staff seemed not to care. The place also felt dirty and disorganized, which made everything worse. In our room, we kept seeing lizards and bugs, about every 20 minutes. The worst part happened while I was eating: a snake fell from above and landed on me. I was completely shocked, and the staff barely reacted or handled it properly. Honestly, the whole experience was a mess from beginning to end, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend it.

It was quiet when we stayed at Smile Samui, and the atmosphere felt very relaxed. Our room was superb, a special treat for two nights since it was at the top of our budget and came with a private pool. There were plenty of cheaper options, and the main pool was well used in the afternoons.
