The area is close to restaurants, bike rentals and other Thai specialities, but far enough away that at night you can see the stars and hear birds instead of traffic and trucks. This has been the most pleasant hotel experience of my life so far. We had a three bedroom villa made up of three separate houses around a garden in full bloom, with a lawn and a generously sized pool, all for our private use. The master bedroom is in a large house. The queen and twin rooms share another, while the third house has the living room and kitchen. Every house has a toilet, and each bedroom has a bathroom with a shower, warm water and good pressure. Everything was clean and at a high standard. The service seemed top class too: management fixed a broken fan within an hour after I reported it. The pool water was clean as well. It feels like there’s no reason to leave the palace.

The views were amazing, and Baan Chuddanip is in such a beautiful part of the world. Our group of 10 fit very comfortably in the lovely villa. The letdown was privacy: although it was meant to be a “private” villa, the groundskeeper and housekeeping staff wandered around from 7am, and their pet parrots started squawking as soon as the sun came up. With that privacy, it would have been a perfect stay.
