The Rock Samui Beach Resort

We rented the family rock suite at Rock Samui, right by the beach, and had an amazing stay. If you're travelling with kids, I strongly recommend it. It has its own cave. 'Nough said! The suite looks over the hotel's private beach and one of its 3 swimming pools. Other hotel guests can come by, but there were at most 8 people there during our stay. Usually we had the place to ourselves or shared it with another 2-3 people. The service was excellent too.

The hotel's beautiful and calm, and the team was responsive and professional when we raised issues. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return. A few room issues came up: a bulb wasn't working at arrival but was fixed the next day, and hot water was a problem at first, resolved after about 36 hours with staff checking back in. Some furniture and finishes felt lower-end than expected, including cold white LED lighting and no bedside lights. The gorgeous “sea view” was really only from the living area. The bedroom window faced close to the main road and could be noisy. Construction in the common area near the pool took place almost daily from check-in until the day before we left, and Wi-Fi by the pool was unreliable for most of the stay. What made the biggest difference was the staff. They were consistently attentive, proactive, and genuinely helpful, with impressive service throughout. Thanks a lot!!!

I borrowed a book for my stay and read it under the parasols by the private beach. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and I loved the murals on the walls. It's a great, relaxed place, not a party hostel. The dorm was affordable and spacious, with a comfy bed and living area.

I stayed in a dormitory, though they also have lots of private rooms closer to the beach. It's a little pricier than an average hostel, but worth it for the great staff and lovely private beach and pool area. There's also a washing machine on the rooftop that guests can use for free.
