The pool was clean and pleasant, and the staff and owner were super friendly and helpful. They cleaned daily and made the beds. We had a very comfortable stay in this 2-Bedroom Family Villa (Sleeps up to 4 People), which would work well for a family or two couples. We would definitely come back. It's about an eight-minute walk from the island's main area, or a quick two-minute motorbike ride, so you're close to things while still having peace and quiet. The two bedrooms have strong air conditioning that cools the whole villa, and comfortable beds with clean white sheets. There's also a cozy living room with a comfy sofa and several fans, plus a spacious outdoor patio. A string of fairy lights would make the patio even nicer. The bathroom has hot water and a mirror, though the shower pressure is a bit weak. The small kitchen has a fridge, toaster, toaster oven, kettle, gas stove, sink, cooking and eating utensils, and a washing machine. The villa is clean, convenient, and in a great location.

The shower pressure wasn't great, but everything else made up for it. Jim was extremely kind as host, and Mr Jor was very helpful. It's clean and comfortable, good value for money, and had everything we needed. Some negative comments about the place can safely be ignored. I'd happily come back.

The villa has a pool surrounded by loungers and umbrellas, along with landscaped gardens and several outdoor seating spots. It also has an outdoor kitchen and dining area, a modern fully equipped kitchen, free Wi-Fi, and parking. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated, with comfortable beds, luxurious linens, and towels. Bathrooms are modern, with large showers and separate bathtubs. It's in a picturesque setting with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The nearby town has restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions. With its comfort, style, and places to relax, the villa was a great vacation rental for families, couples, or groups of friends. 5/5 stars

The location was really convenient. There's a small grocery store and a motorbike rental shop right across the street, and the lively streets with restaurants and bars are about a 10-minute walk or 2-minute motorbike ride away. I had a wonderful stay at Baan Sawainam and 100% recommend it. They welcome dogs at no extra charge, which is rare on Ko Tao. There were people walking their pets in the area as well as stray dogs, but I had no problems with my two female dogs. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious enough. I was unlucky to have a small issue with both water and electricity during my visit, but the friendly, attentive staff resolved both promptly and were always available if I needed anything.

The photos online don't show how awful the place is. We arrived after check-in time and our room still wasn't ready. You have to pay in advance, with no refunds. The place was dark and neglected, and the pool looked like a contaminated pond. Our room was small, old, and dirty. The only guy working there wasn't nice. He opened our room in the morning and told us to leave before checkout time, as if he was rushing us out. It's far from the center, and saving a few baht isn't worth it. Absolutely horrible, do not book.
