A lovely stay. I asked, and they cleaned the room. The restaurant serves tasty food in small portions, but it’s an inexpensive find right on the beach. Chalok may not suit you if sand flies bother you. That comes with staying somewhere quiet by the beach that’s easy to reach.

The room was comfortable, and the facilities were in good shape. The building itself is well maintained, so on the physical side the hotel met expectations. Service brought the experience down. The receptionist regularly came across as unprofessional: she avoided eye contact, used a dismissive tone, and made sarcastic comments that didn’t belong in a hospitality setting. Even straightforward questions sometimes got rude or irritated replies, making the stay uncomfortable. The facilities are good, but the service was well below the expected standard. Management should take a serious look at staff training and customer care, because the poor attitude outweighed the good infrastructure.

We didn’t get the room we had booked, and the response was basically that this was what we were getting. The front desk was no help at all and didn’t seem to care what we said or explained. No one made a real effort to fix the issue or take responsibility. Be aware that you may not receive what you paid for, with nobody available to discuss it.

My wife and I visited in 2022. It was a beautiful, romantic, quiet place, and the owner was friendly. We’ll definitely come back.
