Good Dream Hotel - Hostel

The staff were lovely, and the bed and pillows were really comfortable. We also appreciated the daily room cleaning, the water bottles left by our door, and the team's help arranging transport to our next place on the other side of the island. We were on the ground floor, where the thin walls meant noise carried easily and woke us up quite often. There was also an unpleasant smell around the toilet and shower, plus quite a few mosquitoes in the room. Bring plenty of bug spray.

If you're on a tight budget, this is one of the cheapest hostels in Koh Tao and could suit you. Just know that the low price comes with a lot of corner-cutting: towels cost extra, the AC is off during the day, and refilling water also has a fee. It felt like they were trying to get as much money from guests as possible. If comfort matters more than finding the cheapest option, look elsewhere.

The rooms were spacious and clean, the showers had strong hot water, and the beds were comfy. Sairee beach is only a 3-minute walk away. We were really impressed with the value. In the evenings, we just joined social events at other hostels. 💕

We spent most evenings out and came prepared with earplugs, so we enjoyed our stay. The room worked well as a base, with a very comfortable double bed, a balcony view, and a mini-kitchen for coffee, snacks, or simple meals. The shower also had reliable hot and cold water with good pressure. The place has a social, youthful feel, which will suit some people. But sound carries badly between rooms and from the hallway. We could clearly hear conversations, music, and footsteps, and large groups coming back late were loud enough to disrupt sleep. It's a good fit for younger travellers, backpackers, or groups who value a functional room and a nice view and expect to be out socializing. Light sleepers, families with small children, couples wanting a quiet getaway, and people who go to bed early may find it difficult. Great value, but pack earplugs.
