The main problem was the noise, which was so bad we left after 2 nights even though we'd booked 4. Some noise from nearby bars was expected, but hotel guests kept us awake. One night about 10 people moved coffee tables outside our room, played beer pong, blasted a speaker, and shouted and screamed until the early hours. With no soundproofing, it felt like they were in the room. Drunk guests also woke us through the night, shouting and standing around chatting right outside. This went way beyond the noise we'd expect in a busy place. I'd only recommend it to people planning to party and stay out until early morning. We arrived just after 6 and were told we couldn't check in until 7 or 7:15 because the receptionist was on a break. After a 12-hour travel day, we were desperate to get into our room and shower, and I've never experienced that at a hotel. The room itself was fine for the price and amenities. The man running the hotel was really nice and helpful, which is why I'm giving it a 3. When we decided to leave halfway through, he offered to move us, but I didn't think that would help since I imagine all the rooms are just as noisy.

The stay went smoothly, and we got our deposit back without any trouble. The staff were friendly, the AC worked very well, and the hotel is right on the beach. Great place!

I booked four nights but checked out after the first, because several things made me seriously uncomfortable. I waited more than 30 minutes for someone to come to reception and check me in. The room had a strong sewage-like smell that made it hard to breathe. I thought about asking to move, but some girls told me they were moving into this room despite the smell because the other room had bedbugs everywhere, so I reluctantly stayed. The smell continued through the night, and loud music from the nearby strip went on all night. The rooms had no door locks, so anyone could walk in, and there were no privacy curtains on the beds. I also felt uneasy about some people in the room. A group was acting strangely and made threatening comments to me and some other girls. I know that wasn't the hostel's fault, but it added to my concerns about safety. I barely slept. I left well before 10 a.m. the next morning. When I explained why to the man at reception, he seemed irritated and dismissive. I asked for a refund for the remaining nights. He returned two nights' payment, which I appreciated, but refused to refund one night. He said I should have told him the day before, though the bad experiences happened late at night when reception was closed. I'm usually not picky about hostels, but this was one of my worst stays. I would strongly advise against it if you care about safety, hygiene, or basic privacy. Even on a tight budget, I'd spend the money elsewhere for somewhere safer and more comfortable.
