Krabi City Seaview Hotel

There’s no hotel sign on the riverside building now, and calling it “Seaview” when the sea is kilometers away feels unbelievable. The bright photos on Booking.com, Trip.com and similar sites may be 20 years old, and it’s a shame they’re still listed and misleading guests. The place is badly damaged and full of cockroaches and other insects. The water pipes, which seem about 100 years old, are in terrible shape, and both the air conditioning and in-room fridge make noise. There was no advertised optional breakfast, and no hot or cold drinking water at the dispenser. Road noise was another problem. It should be demolished, if only to bury millions of cockroaches in the rubble. Stay away at all costs. Nothing here is remotely like the online photos.

I regret staying here. I paid over 50% more, and the room they gave me was the worst available, with three cockroaches and no working water. I was insulted by several people nearby, and those same insults and some kind of pain seemed to happen again around the area. Before leaving, I also seemed to get pain from devices or technology, and the wifi seemed to be received.

The view is nice, but it looks onto a canal, not the sea. Given the room price, this old property still felt like a waste.

It’s close to the pier, which is handy. The hotel is quiet and budget-friendly, though the furniture is old.
