Le Passetemps

Breakfast under the shaded trees on the beach was a highlight, and swimming in the sea at high tide was lovely. Anais also organised a dreamy island tour for us, complete with a picnic lunch. We had four beautiful nights at Le Passé Temps, a secluded paradise in a stunning part of Thailand. Thanks for the hospitality, La Passé Temps team. We’ll be back!

The beachside restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but the meal was a huge disappointment. I ordered Massamann SOUP and soda water. There was maybe a third to half a cup of soup base on the rectangular plate, so I expected the flavor to really pop. It didn’t. The soda water never arrived, and I had to go to the waiter station to ask for my fries. There was no cutlery for one of us either, so I had to take some from another empty table. My wife’s salad had no flavor and was just as bad. We ended up there after kayaking. Don’t waste your time.

The property is beautiful and very peaceful, with lovely Cabanas, a pool we enjoyed, and kind local staff. There’s a new glamping resort opening next door that looks like it’ll be a nice addition. We’d heard good things about the food online and had high hopes because of the French owners, but the restaurant was the big letdown. Maybe it was just an off week, but after the second night we only ate breakfast there. With so few other options nearby, that made things challenging. There is a great place called “The Bay” down by the pier.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, though a little impractical. We came as a couple, and I’m not sure the setup suits kids. It seems better for couples. The hotel delivers on its own concept: tidy, very clean, quiet, and with the interior just right. The place has been put together with care and lots of charm, and there’s a private beach just downstairs by the restaurant. Breakfast was amazing, but dinner there didn’t quite work for us. We preferred the local Thai restaurants about a 10-minute walk away or the night market in Krabi.
