Saii Phi Phi Island Village Hotel

We stayed at SAii Phi Phi Island Village from February 11-14. The setting is secluded and lovely, with a peaceful feel, a beautiful beach, and great sunrise views. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the golf carts made it easy to move around the large property. They also arranged our transfers to and from Phuket well, and the activities center had a good range of excursions. Couples can also arrange romantic events and private dinners. For what it costs, though, I expected more. At around $600 a night, the rooms felt a little small and in need of updating, and the overall level of luxury didn’t match a five-star standard. Breakfast was average, and the food generally was decent, but not what I’d hoped for at that price. There’s no ATM on site either, so guests have to go into the village for cash withdrawals or currency exchange, which was inconvenient for a resort marketed as five-star. I chose it based on the online photos, marketing, and Google reviews. My impression is that it’s more like a 3.5- to 4-star hotel, and it fell short of the expectations those materials gave me, especially for the price.

Room 153, and we’ve been back five times already. We keep returning because every part of our stay leaves us satisfied. It’s a beautiful private resort with all the amenities we need right there. We picked this place after doing a lot of research, and I’d definitely recommend it. It was the final stop on our 16-day trip around Thailand, and we saved the best for last. Our beachfront bungalow was upgraded to a villa with its own pool and a stunning view. They’ve thought through every detail. We loved the food at Olive Oyl. Being able to get to the village added a fun atmosphere, with more choices for dinner and drinks.

The view from the resort is lovely, with a broad beach and other islands nearby. The beach itself is amazing, with umbrellas available, and the Fun Pool was my favorite of the two main pools. Getting around was easy. You can walk to the village or use the resort’s free transport, and the app is regularly monitored, so staff respond quickly to questions. Room service is good if that’s what you want, though I preferred spending time in the shared areas, where I could enjoy the atmosphere and meet the friendly, welcoming team. Most services, especially restaurants, close around 10pm. There’s security around the property and cameras throughout, which made me feel safe. If there’s a medical emergency, a nurse is available and the resort can call in additional medical help if needed. I also appreciated seeing how well SAii Village and the local villagers work together. As a visitor, that gave me confidence that larger businesses and local people can share resources and benefit from them. It also means customers have room to choose between value and affordability.
