Thaksin Grand Home Hotel

I found Thaksin grand open by luck after all the hostels were booked during the last few days of December 2025 in Krabi town. It’s about a 15-minute walk to town and the market. The woman at the front desk gave me a room instead of a dorm, and her hospitality and communication were amazing. I stayed a couple of extra nights and would definitely return. The rooftop is nice, and it’s a good fit if you want somewhere quieter with lots of space.

The owner was waiting at reception to welcome us, even though we arrived and checked in quite late at night. Our room was across the road, very clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. You can find cheaper places up in the main town, but this is ideal for a quieter stay, and the night market is just a 15-minute walk away.

It’s an easy walk to the main part of town, and the rooms are very clean with really good WiFi. The staff are lovely too. It doesn’t have the usual hostel setup, and there isn’t really a shared social area, though there are two balconies. If you want an inexpensive place to relax, this works well.

The staff made this place feel like a family home, and they were incredibly helpful. They offered to drive us into town and to our ferry in the morning, which saved us the extortionate cab fares during covid. Cheap and cheerful accommodation. I’d highly recommend it.
