The restaurant food was excellent and very reasonably priced when the kitchen was open. The trouble was it wasn’t always open, and there was basically only one chef. I stayed here last year while working in the area, outside the holiday season, when the hotel was nearly empty. I’m returning to the same region in two weeks and will definitely book this hotel again.

The hill and all the steps are worth bearing in mind, especially if you have mobility issues. The lifts don’t reach every room, but staff took our luggage up in a small car and carried it to our room. They brought it back to our car when we left, and offered us a ride up the hill each time we returned. We had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel above the ocean. Our room was large and clean, with comfortable beds, a big TV, hot showers, and a sea view. We watched gorgeous sunsets from the balcony. There’s a small, very clean pool, and breakfast had lots of good options. The restaurant was closed for Ramadan, so we didn’t eat there. Staff were warm and helpful. Nearby seaside restaurants were a short drive away.

The reception was very good, but my only night at this hotel was a nightmare. There’s a bar 200 meters away, and a concert played at full volume from 10 p.m. until after 2 a.m. The sound echoed through the whole hotel. It was impossible to sleep, which was unacceptable. How can that happen?

WiFi was very poor and barely worked. Apart from that, we had a very pleasant stay at Royal Hill Satun Hotel. The hotel is spacious and a little old, but comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Staff were excellent, kind, and ready to help. We visited during Ramadan, when most nearby restaurants were closed, so they arranged a ride for us to Papaya Mom restaurant, which was too far to reach on foot.

A pleasant stay overall, with a clean, friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was a bit disappointing.
