Sangtong Beach Resort

We spent a week here last year and found the houses clean and really pleasant. It was a very comfortable stay.

The owners are incredibly kind hearted, and we'd definitely book here again if we're in the area. We stayed three nights, and it was one of the best places we've stayed so far. The rooms are clean, the cleaning service is very professional, and the pool is great. They also lend bikes for free to ride around town. 7-11 is three minutes away, and the beach is just around the corner. The hotel is run by a couple who also have a fishing/appliance store along the beach. The wife knows the fishing shop well. On our first day, we wanted to visit Waterfall Phlio, and her husband took the time to drive us there and return at the time we'd arranged to pick us up. On the way, he stopped at a temple and walked us around. That evening he took us fishing on his boat for a very fair price, and we watched the sunset while we fished. They're kind, friendly, and incredibly generous to staff and customers.

So far, this has been our favourite place to stay in Thailand. The rooms and pool were clean, and the service was excellent. The owner is very friendly and, for a very modest fee, took us to temple grounds, the waterfall, and squid fishing. Can't recommend it highly enough.

One of my favourite beach areas in Thailand, and a really relaxing place. There are terrific seafood restaurants on the beach. While you're here, climb up to the lighthouse and visit the dolphin show.
