The Coconut Hotel

Thanks, Brad Hashimoto. We were planning to book a few rooms for our BJJ club, but we won't now. I hate seeing business owners put money ahead of people. Reply to the owner: it looks like the booking and refund request came six weeks in advance. To me, that makes the owner seem inconsiderate, closed-minded, uncompassionate, money-hungry, and guided by poor values.

Wi-Fi was a bit of a problem during our stay. Each room seemed to have its own router, but the signal was consistently weak. I think management knows and is trying to sort it out. It may be the area, but keep it in mind if you need internet for streaming apps. We stopped at The Coconut Hotel for one night and found everything immaculately clean and well kept. The appliances were new, the bathroom was spacious, and the bedding was extremely comfortable after a day on the road. It was quiet and pleasant. A couple of costs caught us off guard: extra pillows were 50 Baht, which I'd never seen charged for at a hotel, and espresso drinks at breakfast cost extra. Nescafe was included with the buffet, but fresh coffee wasn't.

The entrance is hard to spot at night, but there's plenty of parking out front and security. The lift and the place use card access, and the water heater and lift seemed new. An extra bed made the room feel small. Still, I slept well in the cool December weather.

Set in a small coconut plantation, this hotel has a nice feel, and the rooms are a comfortable size with balconies. There's lots of parking, and I'd like to stay here again. Most of the staff, including housekeeping and the security guard, were friendly. The reception staff could do better with their communication and smiles compared with the rest. There's a breakfast area and cafe, and the nearest 7-11 is a short drive away.
