Baan Kub Doi Maechaem

My room was fine, and the staff were nice. The basic breakfast was good, too. I didn’t get a chance to use the swimming pool. The TV wasn’t working at first, but the manager sorted it out. There was an odd step down between the bedroom and the area outside the bathroom, and I caught myself off guard on it a couple of times. The bathroom also had a smell.

It’s right in the middle of town, though there aren’t any views. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and breakfast was decent without being anything special. The pool looked nice, but we didn’t use it. An okay place to stay.

The guesthouse felt cozy, like a grandma’s house, and breakfast was toast with jam and plain rice. But the hosts seemed to have a big party, and their guests were loud until 1 a.m. They got up pretty early, too. I couldn’t sleep. The swimming pool looked a bit neglected, and the water was green. One night max, or bring earplugs.

We booked two nights during the festival because the event entrance seemed so convenient, just across the road. We didn’t expect a beer garden with loud speakers blaring across the hotel. I hadn’t slept at all, and we ended up leaving at 11 p.m. to look for somewhere else. I’d only put my things in the room before rushing out to see the festival, so we didn’t really use it. The hotel refunded just one night of our two-night booking. I can’t help thinking about guests like us having to rush off during the night to find another hotel. It was a really bad experience on Valentine’s night. The place didn’t feel very clean, and there was noise while trying to sleep. Breakfast was only fried eggs, which I couldn’t eat, so I had to find food elsewhere. The quality was poor and the place was dirty. If I could choose, I’d definitely book this hotel.
