Chanmuang Guesthouse

We got a lot for what we paid. The room was comfortable, everything was clean, and the staff were kind. We could borrow bicycles for free to see the town and use the kitchen to make breakfast. Great value, and I’d happily recommend staying here.

The owner was lovely and happy to help. The house is a little outside the center, but that was fine for us since we had a car. It’s a spacious, very clean place with three rooms, two toilets and showers, a balcony, and a well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed. It would be fun to cook together and stay a few days. Families or groups of friends would suit it well. We paid 1000k per night for the whole house, which can fit 5-8 people. Highly recommend.

The host was nice, but breakfast never came on either of the two mornings, even though we asked the evening before each time. The downstairs room was extremely basic, just a mattress on the floor and a small blanket, which explains the price, I guess. There were no sandals for the wet bathroom, and since shoes aren’t allowed inside the house, that needs sorting out. The bathroom also had nowhere to set toiletries or anything else, which was really inconvenient.

The family running this guesthouse was so kind and made us feel at home. They roast their own coffee and make their own soap, and gave us some soap as a souvenir when we left.
