Kawin Mountain Villa

The bed and the view were superb. We slept really well, and I’d love to know the pillow brand. They were soft but still firm, better than our Bewell and Shereden latex pillows at home. We spent about an hour sitting outside on the deck chairs, just looking at the view. All we heard were chickens below and the occasional motorbike. It’s a great place to unwind with space around you, without neighbors listening or watching. A few things brought it down to four stars. The road beside the parking area has a huge hole that could trap or damage your car. The lot is shared with a restaurant up the road, so if it’s full, you may need someone to guide you past the road obstacles. There are no railings, which is lovely for the view but risky if you’re drinking or afraid of heights. The plunge pool looks like a spa in the photos, but it’s an unheated ice bath with no jets, which was disappointing since we’d hoped to relax in it. The dinner and breakfast were nice, but staff didn’t call or text to say they’d arrived, so we didn’t know they were in the kitchen until we saw or heard them. Security was another concern. The road up is narrow and very winding, and locals drive fast. We nearly got hit several times. Even so, I’d still love to stay again.

The cool, comfortable weather made it especially pleasant. Breakfast and Thai BBQ dinner were included at no extra charge. The accommodation is new and lovely, with peaceful privacy and calming views of all that greenery.

The photos came out nicely, and it was a relaxing stay with a good view. There are quite a few bugs, which I expected and didn’t mind. The issue for me was the slightly yellow water from the bathtub. Bolt drivers asked for extra because of the location, and getting there is difficult enough that I’d hesitate to return. You have to decide whether the view and photo opportunities are worth the cost, since that’s mostly what stood out.

I really enjoyed staying here. The road is good and easy for a sedan, and there’s parking. Inside, the decor is lovely, the view is amazing, and the weather stays cool and comfortable. There’s a bathtub in the room and a private pool right outside, great for photos. Highly recommend!
