The river right outside the door is a beautiful place to sit with tea or food, or just relax. Add the mountain jungle views from the villa and the jacuzzi tub with its 'Steam Water Shower', and the whole setting feels like five stars. Sukantara is peaceful and surrounded by pristine nature. Getting here is easy, with no road problems, and although it feels tucked away, town is only a 20-25 min drive. When we first arrived, the staff were incredible. Hu'an (Spelling..?) was especially kind and attentive, handled our food requirements well, and made us feel right at home. We travel around the world and try to 'Scout' places before booking, and we knew this was the place for us. We almost want to keep it to ourselves so we can get a room next time we’re in Thailand, but we’ll definitely do our diligence and return. We came back in FEB 2026, and our appreciation for the atmosphere and ecosystem @ Sukantara only grew. Huge credit to the team. If you stay here, tip them big. They deserve it multitudes more than the gross, industrial 'High tech' profiteering hotels around Thailand and the world. This place feels far more special and real. Mâi sài hŏm ná & Mâi sài gràtīam ná Kráb and Kà Khòb khūn kráb/kà for the Thai education. We extend our best and dearest wishes for Sukantara's success.

We joined the hotel tour to the nearby botanical gardens and Mon Jam, and had a great day out. Back at the resort, the waterfalls were a real highlight, and we enjoyed seeing the friendly peacocks roaming around. The hotel is lovely and the staff were warm and welcoming throughout. Our February visit was in the quieter season. We were told domestic tourism peaks in January, and it felt especially peaceful. Since the resort is quite secluded, food options are mostly at the hotel restaurant, though there’s a nice little coffee shop a short walk away. A special spot for a calm few days.

The waterfall and all the nature make Sukantara cascade feel like paradise. I proposed to my girlfriend here, and the staff helped me so much to make it happen. They’re really friendly and do their best to keep you comfortable and relaxed. We had a romantic dinner in the evening with delicious food. A 10 out of 10 experience. Thank you, staff of Sukantara.

The staff were the standout for us, 10/10 for service and friendliness. We had an early day trip and would miss our prepaid breakfast, so they surprised us with sandwiches and fruit boxes suited to our dietary preferences, without us asking. That care really stuck with me. The surroundings are beautiful, the property is impeccably clean, and the sound of the nearby river is incredible. It’s like natural white noise, making it easy to fall asleep and wake calm and refreshed. I was amazed by the scenery when I explored on my own, and the peacocks are a charming touch. The hotel could use some updated technology and better guest orientation, though. A simple map of the property would help, and the kitchen could offer a wider range of food. It’s a bit secluded. Getting there from the airport costs around 1,000 baht. The hotel taxi at 700 baht is a little pricey, but comfortable and luxurious. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful stay and excellent value for money.

A lovely place to relax, with welcoming, friendly staff. I’d happily return, whether to stay again or just sit outside with a cappuccino.
