Ban Naam Resort

The setting is attractive, with the nongs, meaning lakes, and mountains behind it. Our deluxe room was roomy, and after we switched rooms the WiFi worked fine. The room itself had a strong musty, stale smell, though, and the fittings felt poor. I left the hot shower running overnight by accident because the valve was hard to close. There wasn't an upper sheet for the moderately hard bed. I found no coffee at 6am, though I later learned instant coffee and powdered milk were available, so I suppose that part is forgivable. It was relatively cheap, but I won't stay there again.

I spent one night there. The room was okay, but the toilet wasn't good. The door was too low, and my husband, who's about 1.9 meters tall, hit his head on it twice. Breakfast was only rice soup and coffee. I wouldn't recommend it.

For a regular room for two, the rate is around 800 baht (32 dollar) per night. They also have rooms for groups or families that sleep 3 to 5 people, plus a large dorm with more than 20 beds in one room.

It looks peaceful at first and the rooms are large, but at night the local bar and bands get going. There's the usual heavy bass and wailing singing, and it's noisy. I won't stay here again.
