The bungalow sits right on the water and cost less than $19. There’s a small lake and lovely gardens, and despite being just a kilometer from Highway 1, the place stays quiet. The beds were soft by Thailand standards, and Wi-Fi was available in the room. Kun Ten restaurant is about 500 meters west; it serves food and beer, has live music, and stays open until 9pm.

The pond looks lovely from the balcony, and the room feels cosy with soft pillows and a soft bed. I’m giving it four stars because dogs barked and howled late at night and again early in the morning.

The room smelled extremely musty and had mold. I’d have left if it hadn’t been late at night and a last-minute, prepaid booking. I also had a long discussion with the owner about the advertised Wi-Fi. There wasn’t any in our room, but he argued that the listing didn’t promise Wi-Fi in the rooms. I’d skip this place.
