Chuanchom Hotel

This was my first trip to Mahasarakham, and I chose this hotel for my stay. I found it through Google since it isn't listed on online booking sites, Thai or international. I contacted them through Facebook, and messaging was smooth, with quick replies. I stayed two nights at 550 baht per night and paid a 100 baht deposit, which was returned at checkout. Cards aren't accepted. QRIS is an option if you don't have cash, but as someone from Indonesia I couldn't use the QRIS from my country, so I paid in cash. My room was on the second floor, in the large category, with a traditional key. It had extra space leading toward the bathroom and toilet, plus a window in that area looking outside the hotel. I liked the calm, bright feel from the monochrome paint and the bright white lights. The Wi-Fi was super fast, which made uploading things easy. The TV channels were Thai, so I didn't watch much. They replaced the mineral water each morning. The room was cleaned daily, and the AC was cold. You can ask reception if you don't want your room cleaned. The photos show more of the rooms. There was no set hour for returning at night, as a guard was on the night shift. For reception matters, though, it was better to wait until morning since the night watchman could only handle standard things. Free drinks and small snacks were available in the lobby around the clock, and you could have them there or take them to your room. There are many dogs roaming around Mahasarakham, and some sometimes stayed near the entrance or parking area. I'm afraid of dogs, so on my first night, after coming back from being out, I asked the hotel guard to move one aside so I could get in. It was all under control. The residential area around the hotel was hushed and peaceful, which I really liked. A 7-Eleven is just 20 meters away and open 24 hours, with frozen food, snacks, and cheap drinks. The prices even seemed lower than at 7-Eleven in Bangkok. For getting around, I found Grab a very good and safe choice. The prices were very cheap, even lower than Grab in Bangkok. I liked using Grab Car, where most of the cars were costly ones. I'm satisfied with my stay and would definitely come back if I return to Mahasarakham.
