Hotel de Ladda

I really liked the views over the Mekong River to Laos, especially at sunset. The pool looks straight out over the river, and the rooms are large, clean, have balconies, and everything worked. Getting the shower temperature right took a tiny adjustment. The European-scene murals on each floor and in the breakfast room are an interesting touch. Breakfast was excellent, though it’s a shame there was only one fruit choice in Thailand. The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke English well. Some parts, especially the corridor, need refurbishment.

The service stood out most. The staff went above and beyond to get the details right, and the breakfast was a highlight. The rooms are thoughtfully designed and the amenities are top-tier. An absolutely exceptional stay. If you’re visiting Mukdahan, this is the only place you should consider. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was unfortunately inadequate, but I’d still recommend this hotel. The rooms are modern, spacious, clean, and have views of Laos and the Mekong River. The bathroom is also nice, modern, and functional.

We stayed two nights midweek in July 2025 and had three rooms. Every room overlooks the river, and the hotel is right beside it. The Corner Suite was really nice, and worth considering even if you don’t need the third bed because there’s so much more space. Breakfast and service were both excellent. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, which opened at 5pm during our stay when there weren’t many guests around. A short walk south along the river takes you to an excellent restaurant and bar with live music.
