Kiengpiman Hotel

For about 450 baht, we were happy with our stay and thought it was good value. The room was clean, with reasonable facilities, and the king-size bed was firm without being rock hard like beds in some Thai hotels. The air conditioning worked well and wasn't too noisy. The TV was an old analog model rather than LCD or LED, but that didn't bother us. There was no breakfast, so we'll go to the markets. Like many mid-range hotels, there wasn't a coffee maker in the room. We got around that by buying our own jug and coffee, then picking up UHT milk from Seven 11.

No bicycles available to rent anywhere, unfortunately. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff are friendly. There's a strict no-smoking rule. Cheap, good places to eat are just opposite, and it's a 5 to 20 minute walk past a sprawling veg Market to Mukdahan's main street. The night market is about a 20-minute walk.

2022 Came back and had no unpleasant surprises. The rooms are still nice, the upkeep is good, and the price is 480 THB. The manager is very friendly, so it's an address worth sharing. 2019 A large room for 450 TH, with an elevator serving 4 floors. The management were friendly, and I'd recommend it as a budget hotel.

I paid less than US$20 a night in the off season. Breakfast is optional, and the fresh market isn't far away. The place is modern, quiet, clean, and reasonably priced, with working A/C. The WIFI works, though it's slow as usual. There's no swimming pool.
