We ended up not wanting to leave. The grounds are huge, and a nearby waterfall makes a lovely change from a standard hotel pool. The room and restaurant also had a steady breeze the whole time, thanks to how the hotel sits on the land. The restaurant was a highlight. Every Thai and Western dish we tried was excellent value and better than what we expected, even compared with Bangkok. The accommodation, warm staff, and food all went well beyond what we expected. The spaces feel elegant and carefully put together, with antiques throughout. It may not look spotless to everyone, but the property is so exposed to nature that I thought it was very well kept. Being so remote means service can sometimes be unpredictable, though the team worked hard and were attentive. Khun Jenny and her colleagues were among the warmest staff we’ve met. A favorite place in Thailand, and one I’ll miss.

We came for friends’ wedding at Kachong Hills Resort and had a memorable stay. The venue was beautiful, and we especially enjoyed the animals, two resident cats, a pony, and three goats. Our deluxe tent looked out over a creek and the hills. There’s a nearby waterfall, with daily tuk tuk trips available for 400 baht. The food was phenomenal and fairly priced, and breakfast was included with both Thai and Western choices. Jennie was a huge help when we needed a last-minute ride to Trang airport. She put us at ease, and we really enjoyed our time there.

The room had a gorgeous mountain view, and being surrounded by all that nature really helped us unwind. There’s plenty to do around the resort too, from roasting coffee and making herbal inhalers to walking or biking around the grounds. We were greeted with a smile and a tamarind drink. The staff were friendly, professional, and service minded. The food was delicious, with lots of variety. Breakfast had buffet and a la carte choices, including local and continental dishes. Everything was better than the website made it sound. Highly recommend 👍

We liked it so much that we extended our stay and still didn’t want to leave. There’s a wide menu, and the dishes are beautifully prepared, so there’s lots to choose from. The setting is wonderfully relaxing, and the staff are great. Jeannie deserves a special mention for being so attentive and clearly passionate about her work. The coffee-making activity and waterfall trips were free, and they even packed us a little picnic to take along.

The peaceful natural setting and the resort’s cute animals made our two nights especially lovely. We had a room with a private pool, and the restaurant terrace was a great place to enjoy the excellent food and drinks. There are also activities to fill a relaxed afternoon. We travel a lot, but rarely find a space designed this beautifully, with so many thoughtful decorations and details. Nothing felt missing. Pompy, apologies if I’ve got the name wrong, was always available and made us feel genuinely special. A friendly, distinctive place with quality service if you’re after some quiet.
