N-Five Place

For 400 baht a night, I think it’s good value. There’s adequate parking, and you can walk to the main road, some street food, and a 7-Eleven. The standard room has air conditioning, hot water, and two bottles of water in the fridge. The mattress may not be very soft, but it isn’t hard as a board.

The owner provides good service, though parking is limited. For 400, the room was clean, with no sewer or musty smell. The bed was quite firm, but there were plenty of outlets and the air conditioning got very cold. Only soap was provided, and the TV had standard cable.

The room looked quite old and was black, though I don’t know why the dorm owner has something against black. The door barely locked and took a lot of force, and opening it to go in or out was almost impossible. When the air conditioner worked, it was very loud, and the room wasn’t soundproof. The rules on the door list all kinds of things that are forbidden, but nobody seemed to check the room itself.

The toilet kept making a water-banging sound all night. The room also didn’t block much noise, so I could hear people walking around and talking.
