I travel around Thailand regularly on road trips and this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in here. Cigarette butts were scattered outside, and there was a bad smell at reception, in the guest toilet, and along the corridor to our room on level 4. The room was dirty. A wet, used towel had been left in the bathroom, and the floor was gritty with sand, as if it hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. When we sprayed the bathroom floor and walls with the shower, dirt came off, leaving black marks. We had to clean it ourselves with water and soap. The AC still wasn’t cool enough even at 16 C, and it was cooler outside our room than inside. We eventually called the cleaning lady to come clean it. We were exhausted after riding our bike for nine hours from Pai via doi inthanon. Otherwise, we would have checked out, found another hotel, and demanded a refund. Stay away from this place. I’d give it zero stars. Don’t expect the friendly service I’m used to seeing in hotels in Thailand.

The room was large and comfortable, and although the mattress was very hard, I still found it oddly comfortable. Staff were helpful even though they didn’t speak English. The location was sort of central, with AC and parking. Inside, though, it felt like a prison, and the corridors were pretty scary. The big problem was the cockroaches. We checked in at 18.30 and left at 10.00, and found four that evening. Three were kind of small, which can happen even in good hotels. But the huge one, about the size of my finger, was a real turn-off. It was in the bathing area, and we were scared it would get away if we moved it, so we didn’t shower. You get what you pay for at 10€ a night, but I still wouldn’t recommend it.

The service was excellent, and morning and evening food markets are just a short walk away. It’s a cheap motel in the inner city, with a typically hard Thai-style bed 😉. The air conditioning, TV, and water heater all worked.

I pass by this place pretty often, but I haven’t stayed there, so I can’t comment on the hotel itself. It’s been around for a while. Before Covid, it was popular with local and tourist teens because of its loud disco.
