Ban Roojai

The location has a village feel, though the city center is only about five minutes away by motorbike. There’s room to park three cars and three or four motorbikes in the backyard, plus two or three cars outside. The rooms are roomy, clean, and comfortable, and the table was especially handy for working. The senior management and cleaning team were caring and friendly. Great value for the money, and a really pleasant stay.

My plan was to take a couple of nights off from motorcycle adventures and sleep in, but the stay turned into a disappointment. Check-in took nearly an hour because nobody picked up at the number on the reservation, on Facebook, or at the front desk. After I’d carried all my things in from the bike, I was told about an hour later that they were full the next day and I had to check out, so there went my relaxing day. I also found a large screw in my front tire the next morning and had a flat, though I can’t say where it came from or blame the hotel. A few restful nights in Nan just weren’t in the cards for me.

It’s a quiet little private hotel with just four rooms, near the city center. The garden is lovely and there’s parking. My room was clean, the air conditioning worked well, the shower had good pressure, and the bed was very soft. Free Wi-Fi too. In rainy season it was 500 Baht a night, which felt fair. I’ll come back.

A calm, clean and comfortable place to stay. Good value, and there’s parking for bikes too.
