Paknap Hostel

The location is excellent, just a 1 minute walk to the bus terminal and 10mins on foot to the walking street. But the hostel smelled so strongly of cat poop that I had to hold my breath. The floors felt sticky and needed a more thorough clean.

I stayed a few nights in December 2025, in a lower bunk on the first floor of an 8-person room. The hostel is only a minute's walk from the bus terminal, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are three free bicycles, free coffee and biscuits, and a kitchen with condiments; the refrigerator is upstairs on the second floor. Drinks such as beer and soft drinks, plus snacks like cup noodles and banana chips, are for sale. Shoes aren't allowed inside, and the shoe lockers are outside the hostel. The first floor has common space with plenty of power outlets, while the second floor common area has none. Both floors have similar facilities: on the first there are 1 toilet, 4 showers, 3 toilet/showers, 1 sink and 2 hair dryers. It wasn't very tidy or clean. The many QR codes on posters linking to recommended nearby restaurants on Google Maps were tedious to scan one by one; an easy-to-read map of their locations would be better. At 21:00, WiFi measured 3.1Mbps at the beds and 13Mbps in common areas. The female cats are Sara (long tail) and Tao (short tail).

The bus station is very close, just a 1 minute walk. I stayed in both a private room and a dorm, and liked both. The dorm was really good, with fresh, new beds. The owners are very good people and will give you whatever information you need.

A very quiet stay :) The hostel is incredibly spacious, with lots of common areas, a kitchen, rooftop and balcony. It's right next to the bus station, so getting around by transport is really convenient.
