Grand Paradise Nongkhai

When I got out of the minivan bringing people from Udon Thani airport, my first impression was that this was a haunted hotel. I checked in, got my key, and took the lift to the sixth floor. The smell of paint and gas there was extreme, and my room smelled bad too. That floor felt deserted, with nobody around and only that smell. After settling in briefly, I went back to the front desk to ask for another room. The staff member said all the rooms smelled that way and offered to refund me. I took the refund, checked out, and walked about half a mile down the road to the White Inn. What a relief. I’d never stay at Grand Paradise Hotel again, or even consider it.

The people were nice, but the hotel felt empty and lifeless. It’s very old and needs renovating. They promised English, but nobody spoke it. Sorry.

It’s a bit dated and needs upgrading. I stayed for free, and with the owners putting money into a refurbishment, it could be great again.

I gave it one star too, since that’s what everyone else gave.
