Palmari boutique hotel (SHA Extra Plus)

We stayed two nights with family in Jan 2026. I was initially worried by reviews mentioning ants, highway noise, and cleanliness, but we had none of those issues. The hotel was neat and clean, economical, and good value for money. Staff were helpful, and it’s very near the airport, with restaurants, seven eleven, and a local market nearby. There’s no elevator, but the hotel only has 2 floors, and staff help move luggage. Ao nang beach is about 30km away. The hotel is cheaper, so even a taxi’s cost is offset by the lower room price, and being near the airport means less worry about missing the flight. It was a very good stay and experience. Don’t go by other people’s comments. You can book without worrying.

We only needed a place for one night before a morning flight, and the airport was at most 10 minutes away by taxi. The room was pretty poor, though clean enough, and the shower had hot water. For £22 a night, I suppose you get what you pay for. The woman at reception just made a few sounds and pointed us toward the room. The coffee shop downstairs was closed, and when we asked about drinks, she just pointed outside.

The room was clean, and the hotel is handy if you specifically need to stay near the airport. Beyond that, the location isn't great. There’s no elevator, and they only tell you when you arrive that you can't pay by card. The receptionist didn't speak English. It's also not advertised as pet-friendly, yet there were animals everywhere.

There are lots of little Thai food stalls nearby, and they stay open late. I could run out for pork and noodles for 40 baht. I needed an inexpensive place near the airport while I sorted out a credit card problem. It isn't a luxury hotel, but the room was clean, the desk staff were really nice, and the price is hard to beat.
