Racha Sunset Resort

The island is small and quiet, which is a big part of its charm. There are no typical Instagram-style white sand beaches, but the beaches still have their own beauty. The sunsets were stunning, and we had them all to ourselves. Some days it really felt like no one else was there. It’s a great place to slow down and properly relax. This was one of the most personal and best hotel stays we’ve had. The welcome was warm from the start. They even arranged soy milk for our latte macchiato, and Ying took the time to explain three detailed ways we could travel to the next island. That was a huge help.

For three weeks I enjoyed the peaceful, natural setting of Racha Sunset Resort on Koh Siboya. It’s ideal if you want to get away from the bustle and spend your time relaxing. In the morning I could walk the beach alone, and at low tide I could wade far out across the shallow water and mudflats. The bungalows sit beneath palm trees, less than 100 metres from the beach, with hammocks around the grounds for taking it easy. The manager is the soul of the resort. She and her family and team went well beyond normal hotel service to make sure I was happy. They helped organize every part of my trip, from arrival to the smallest detail of leaving. She even called my next hotel herself to make sure the onward journey would go smoothly. I arrived as a guest and left as a friend. For true rest and genuine warmth, I’d happily come back.

Yin, the manager of Racha Resort, brings so much warmth and kindness to the place. She’s always ready to help, and her genuine hospitality makes a real difference. Thank you, Yin. It feels almost like staying on a private island, with a peaceful, authentic atmosphere away from the crowds. It’s a lovely place to be immersed in nature, relax, and reconnect with it. The family who host this place are incredibly kind, and I don’t have words for how wonderful they are. The scenery is beautiful, and the water is lovely. The rooms are excellent and very fairly priced. The restaurant food is among the best I’ve eaten on my whole trip. This place is simply magical.
