I stayed for a week at this very cheap, nice hostel by the river and could meditate peacefully every day. The staff were kind and helpful. My only issue was that the room could’ve been cleaned more often. I had to ask when our toilet started smelling really bad. The hostel partners with the company that organizes the jungle and tubing parties. If you’re going to Pai, you can’t miss it, really.

The place had a good vibe and the staff were very friendly, but the room was in rough shape. The doors were moldy, there was a cockroach in the bed, the shower wouldn’t heat up, and the tap wouldn’t stay on. On top of that, I got food poisoning from the burgers and ended up hospitalized.

The common area was basic but cute, and for such a cheap hostel, it’s worth it. We expected the worst from the reviews, but were pleasantly surprised: the rooms, beds and bathroom were clean, and the staff were decent. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. One odd thing: if you don’t want to shiver at night, you have to pay 75 baht to rent a blanket. Pai can get quite chilly. They provide a shower towel, so why not a blanket? There’s also no light switch in the room for the main light. I think someone had to ask the front desk to turn it off around midnight, and it’s right above someone’s bed.

I was really happy at this hostel. Andrew, the manager, is awesome and made me feel at home. He gave me free shooters and helped guide me on elephant tours. I had such a great time eating at the hostel. Thank you.
