Pai Yard Guest House

The communal kitchen was a huge plus, and the beds were great. It’s just outside town, so it was quiet at night and a good place to sleep and chill. The host knows everything about Pai and gave me really good recommendations. He even brought me into town, where I met the locals and got a true Pai experience. I had such a good stay that I extended twice.

I arrived as a solo traveler and left with friends for life. Everyone made me feel safe and well looked after. My private room had its own bathroom and balcony, with an amazing mountain view. On a few rainy days, several of us guests spent time in the guesthouse with the owner and his friends, playing pool. There’s also a great restaurant next door with amazing, cheap food that they’ll deliver to the guesthouse. I highly recommend The yard! ❤️

I spent a month at Pai Yard and loved the peaceful stay. My room had a balcony and big windows facing the mountains, so I woke up to a beautiful sunrise every day. Stephen, the owner, is a lovely guy. The Main Street is a 20-minute walk away, so I needed a bike, which wasn’t an issue for me.

I found insects throughout the room, including in the bed, pillows, and covers. I couldn’t sleep or feel comfortable, and the stay was really bad. When I told the owner, he didn’t apologise. He said this was “common in Pai” and “just ants”, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Basic hygiene and guest comfort should matter wherever you are. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if a clean bed and basic hygiene are important to you.
