Baan Saranya

This is a simple, no-frills place that’s good value if you just need somewhere to sleep. The room and breakfast are basic, and tea and coffee are served in the dining area rather than in the rooms. They even offer a Western breakfast, though we went with local rice soup and fried rice. The staff spoke little English, but we got by with pictures and a translator app. The location was great, near The Chocolate Factory, a few other restaurants, and the lavender garden.

You can walk to The Chocolate Factory restaurant and cafe, as well as 7 eleven, but I found this to be a pretty standard place with old-fashioned style. I’d read good reviews, yet after two nights my experience didn’t match them. The owner, I guess, didn’t seem to care much about guests, and the breakfast wasn’t very good. I asked about renting a motorbike or car and was told yes, but the rental place was closed. The car rental was still open, though the price had gone from 1.500 baht to 2.000 baht without warning, and it was hard to understand the English. The service could use improvement.

The staff were lovely and accommodating, and both the rooms and breakfast were great. I’d recommend staying here.
