The buffet breakfast was good, and the M1 room is nicely minimal and close to the entrance. The mattress was springy and uncomfortable, though. The hotel is out of the way, which can be a plus if you want to get away. But it’s beside a busy road. Traffic carried on until midnight and started up again around five, so as a light sleeper I didn’t sleep well. If you’re not after that secluded feeling, you probably won’t appreciate the location.

The staff were kind and helpful even though they couldn’t speak English. We were about 20 minutes from the night market, but the local market was worth the trip for its amazing food, which made for a relaxed dinner with beer. A great base for exploring Khaoyai by motorcycle. I’ll come back.

The owner’s dog Mali gives the place a homey feel, and there’s a small café on-site for coffee or a snack. The rooms were meticulously clean, and the owner’s personal care of the place adds to its charm. It has a warm, inviting atmosphere that made it a lovely quiet getaway.

The grounds are beautiful, and everything else was nice, clean, and new. Breakfast had enough choices. The beds were a little too firm, and the bathroom really needs at least a shower curtain. One drawback is the hotel’s position on a busy local road. Trucks and cars passing by can get annoying.
