We did feed an elephant a basket of cucumbers for 50 baht, and that felt more acceptable than taking a ride. The visit as a whole was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it, especially to anyone concerned about animal welfare. Jungle House in Khao Yai seemed nearly deserted when we were there. There were hardly any visitors, just two elephants outside, and the grounds looked run down and poorly cared for. The elephants weren't chained, but they appeared thin and unwell, possibly without proper nutrition. For that reason, I strongly advise against elephant riding. It didn't feel ethical, and it raised real concerns about their welfare.

We came across this place over the weekend, and seeing the two elephants chained out front to attract customers was disgusting. They were swaying from side to side and looked clearly distressed. Please don't support this place in any way. We're only five minutes from a national park where elephants roam free in their natural habitat. Go there. It's 2025, people, catch up.

It's shocking and disgraceful that people still support this in 2025. The elephants are chained outside to draw tourists, and they're also used to give rides. If you think that's normal or ethical, consider reading a book. Everyone, especially Western people, knows this is unethical. Don't pretend you don't know, and be ashamed if you still choose to take part in this kind of circus and animal abuse.

There is no reason to keep elephants in tiny pens beside a very busy road just to draw customers in. Disgusting business, and I wouldn't support it. I'd give zero stars if I could.
