GJ TOUR and HOME STAY

The guided trekking and cave trips were a welcome surprise, as was the all-day menu of food and drinks. There’s a tidy garden-like yard, a fire pit seating area, little patios and porches, spotless bedrooms and bathrooms, a very comfortable bed, a hot shower, plus a kettle and coffee. It felt more like a boutique hotel than a homestay, and was an unexpected gem. The young Thai couple who host it are warm and friendly, and both speak very good English. I only wish I’d had longer. If you can, I’d suggest staying 2-3 days. Highly recommended.

The evening chats with our hosts around the fire were a lovely part of the stay, and both speak English very well. Our room was immaculately clean and comfortable, and we were well looked after with meals and everything we needed. The one-day caving trip was incredible. Gai, our host and guide, was patient with our family and made sure we felt safe. The river cave means moving through water and swimming, and the formations were stunning. It was challenging, but manageable for us despite having no caving experience. Being so far underground in that unfamiliar environment was amazing. The equipment and a delicious packed lunch were provided. I highly recommend setting aside time for the tour. It’s an unforgettable cave experience that few people get to have. We spent two nights here and slept wonderfully. The bed was very comfortable, the shower excellent, and the place feels warm and carefully made. Gai and Jittra looked after us so well, with delicious dinners and breakfasts. Gai even roasted sweet potatoes for us over the fire. The caves are a must-see, and Gai knows so much about them and the surrounding nature. We spent the morning exploring caves with him, then hiked up the mountain in the afternoon for a beautiful view. Safety clearly matters to him: he brings professional gear and helmets with lights instead of the smelly petroleum lamps used by other guides. His respect for nature made the outing even more special. From the homestay, Tham Lod Cave is about a 20-minute walk. Around sunset, thousands of swifts fly into the cave together, an unforgettable sight. We highly recommend staying with this kind and caring couple.

The surroundings were breathtaking, and we had a great time trekking a little through the jungle and exploring 3 caves with our host. He was professional and spoke very good English. His wife cooked amazing food at a very good price. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. This was our best stay during 6 weeks in Thailand. We really recommend this homestay and tour.
