The Holiday Resort Pattaya

I checked out disappointed after two days. During my day and a half there, I had to move between three different rooms because each had its own defects. The air conditioning either didn't work or kept failing, and the refrigerators didn't cool properly. The beds were much too hard for me. Construction was going on throughout the hotel and badly affected the atmosphere. Breakfast options were extremely limited, and guests played loud music or movies while staff did nothing about the disruption. I also found it unhygienic and inappropriate that people wore regular clothes in the pool. The worst stay I've ever had, and I can't recommend Holiday Resort Pattaya.

The room was comfortable and check-in went smoothly, but the service at checkout ruined the stay. Staff asked to use my friend's phone to open Google Maps for a review, then gave themselves five stars instead of letting us write our own. Completely unprofessional. Two reception staff spoke in Thai and seemed to be talking about us. Since we don't understand Thai, it made us uncomfortable. The receptionist was unfriendly and didn't explain things clearly. The hotel itself was fine, but the staff's attitude was disappointing. I won't book this hotel again.

The pool is large and lovely, and the place itself is clean and beautiful. The staff are good at making you feel welcome, and there’s complimentary water in the rooms. Breakfast is Asian-style. Once, they cleared everything about half an hour before breakfast was supposed to end, though they did make coffee for me in the kitchen. Soi Bukao is just a few minutes away on foot.

This is a very budget hotel, and its location is convenient for walking to the bars. The area is quiet and the price is affordable. But my bathroom water came out yellow. I reported it and was told an engineer would come, but I don’t think anyone came for four days. The Wi-Fi had problems every day, delaying and blocking my file transfers and emails. The Smart TV wouldn’t connect to the hotel’s own Wi-Fi, and although the AC was cold, it needs a revamp. The front door had a crease, and the whole fourth floor was pitch dark at night. I’m not sure if they switched off the floor or if something wasn’t working. Breakfast wasn’t the usual kind. There was a selection of Indian food, toast, and cornflakes, but no coffee, just 3-in-1 Nescafe. Tea and milk were available, along with some kind of orange juice.
