The staff were so sweet, the price was great, and the location was ideal, right by lots of restaurants and the 7-11. We also had wonderful views of the beautiful rocks. Be sure to ask at the front about their James Bond Island boat trip: it’s a private tour with a local family in a traditional wooden boat, without huge tourist groups. It felt authentic, and we loved it.

I only stayed one night, but a lovely, kind woman helped me find interesting places to visit in this quiet town. My room had a great view out the window, was fairly large for an average hotel, clean, smelled nice and felt very safe. The hotel is close to a gas station and a large 7-eleven store.

We took a bus from Phuket town terminal 2 to this small village for 800bat, hoping to find a local James Bond Island trip rather than one of the tours from Phuket town or, even worse, Patong. We stopped at Luk Muang 2 for coffee, but the food smelled so good we had to order. It was delicious and very cheap. Thanks to the chef, we found a cosy, clean and lovely place to sleep, “Secret Hôtel”, not yet on Booking or RB&B, for just 30usd. 10/10 for that price. The chef also helped us find a great, cheaper tour than the prices in Phuket/Patong, going to the islands before the speedboat tourists. Now we’re planning another night so we can visit the caves and local market, and eat at Luk Muang again!

The restaurant food was delicious, and the chef was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is an old house, but clean, cosy and cheap. I recommend it.
