Khao Sok Jasmine Garden Resort

We were really happy with our stay here. The hotel sits in the national park, only a few minutes’ walk from the main street, and waking up among the trees with monkeys running around and trying to get into the room was amazing. I’d choose an upgraded room, though. The basic ones probably aren’t for everyone, unless that’s the kind of trip you’re after. I’d recommend the place and would likely return.

The staff were easily the highlight. They were wonderful, always ready to help, and did it all with huge smiles. The jungle trips are excellent too. We booked a half-day outing that felt just right, and also took a day trip to the lake. The rooms are simple but clean and have what you need. Monkeys hang around looking for trouble, which is pretty entertaining. The resort is currently expanding and being renovated. Getting to the strip takes about 10 minutes on foot along a dirt track, or costs 200 bht by taxi. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and travel kiosks there, and it still has a traveler feel. I hope that sticks around. Don’t let the negative reviews put you off if you want a jungle stay. Kop khun khrap.

Go wander among the banyan trees if you stay here. The resort feels like stepping into Swiss Family Robinson, and the photos really don’t capture how special it is. The staff were so kind, breakfast was good, and the little town is close enough to walk to. I only wish we’d had more than one night.

Monkeys came by in the morning. This is a clean hotel with a pool and restaurant, and the staff are helpful. They serve Thai and international food. It’s about 600 meters from the entrance to Khao sok Nationalpark and 300 meters from the bus station.
