Grand PL Hotel

The central location is the best thing here, with lots of eateries nearby. There are four covered parking spaces and room for about ten more cars in the open lot. The hotel feels old and needs renovation. My mattress was uncomfortable, and the AC was old, though it wasn't too noisy. The bathroom had a persistent sewage-like smell. Staff tried room fresheners, but the odor stayed. It's also so small that shower water splashes everywhere and leaves things damp. At around 600B a night, the rate seems high for what you get.

It's handy for both drivers and motorbike riders, with plenty of guest parking. The hotel is close to the morning market, night market, train station, nearby dim sum restaurants, a 7 Eleven, and a Lotus's supermarket. C C Steak is right at the driveway entrance, serving reasonably priced steak and other dishes. There are also three coin-operated laundries within a 200-300m walk. This fairly new, six-storey hotel has clean rooms with east- and west-facing balconies. The bathroom is fairly small, but there's an on-demand water heater. In the morning shift, one front desk staff member speaks English; staff on the other shifts don't.

There's a lift, and the rooms are clean and nicely decorated, with both hot and cold showers. From the balcony you can watch a beautiful sunrise. Breakfast is just tea and coffee, and there's no restaurant on site, though plenty of Thai eateries are within walking distance. Guarded parking is opposite the hotel. I also found at least two places nearby with 24-hour washing machines.

Lots of space and comfortable, good value for the money.
