Capstone Resort

The Beachfront Villas were clean, modern, and well equipped, with reliable prices and breakfast available in the room. A convenience store is within walking distance. The beach adjoins a public one that seemed popular with local visitors. Weekends were a bit noisy, but weekdays were fairly calm, even in high season. Staff did their best to communicate, though their English wasn’t very strong, and we managed fine. There was also a very friendly cat who seemed like part of the staff.

The saltwater pool was great, though it’s fairly deep, so bring flotation gear for young kids. The beach is shallow and seemed quiet and clean, with no jet skis, hawkers, or banana boats, and plenty of shells for children to collect. We liked the beach access. Rooms were clean and a decent size, with a large bed and sofa. The resort seems to have around 10-15 villas. If you want English TV, bring films on a USB drive, since the TVs support USB media. Breakfast was simple, eggs, toast, and jam delivered to the room. I thought the beach restaurants to the left were very good, and the pirate-themed bar on the right played decent music and live music without being too loud. We only had one towel in the room, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work, which my wife considered a plus. The public showers just outside the resort on the beach were out of order, so there was nowhere handy to rinse off the sand.

The view from the room is beautiful, and the staff were polite. There’s parking too. In the daytime, the beachfront room can feel exposed, since the beach is public.

No English TV is pretty normal, but not having Wi-Fi is a deal breaker for me. After staying a night, I’ll add that the room was very nice, the staff were great, and breakfast was good. I think ours may have been the only room without Wi-Fi.
